On Friday June 27th at 1636hrs, Chief Rob King from the Latham FD came upon a structure fire at 80 Miller Road in the Boght Fire District. Original fire was located towards the front of the attached garage and the power wires to the residence had already burned through and dropped off the house, they were live and bouncing around the driveway at the front of the residence. Boght, Latham, and the Verdoy FD's were originally dispatched to the scene, a 2nd alarm was called along with a Signal 30 (Working Fire) early into the fire by Chief King and Asst Chief Scott St.Denis of the Boght FD. Assisting at the fire was the Cohoes City FD, Maplewood FD, Fuller Road FD(Fast), Shaker Road FD, Colonie Village FC, West Albany FD, West Cresent FD (Saratoga Co.), and Waterford-Halfmoon FD (Saratoga Co.) - Watervliet Arsenal FD Ambulance & Colonie EMS... The Town of Colonie Fire Services Department responded to the scene for investigation. The West Cresent FD, Shaker Road Loudonville FD and Niskayuna Dist-2(Schenectady Co.) filled in the Boght, Latham and Verdoy fire stations for stand-by. Two firefighters were transported to Albany Medical Center with a minor injury and heat exposure.
Firefighter Chad Alen suffered a burn to his neck.

On Tuesday January 1, 2008 at 23:59 the Fuller Road Fire Department was dispatched for a FAST team assignment to 900 South Family Drive in the Verdoy Fire District. Because they arrived first, the crew of Rescue 3 was put to work as an engine company by Verdoy Fire Command. The crew went to work on both the first and second floor doing fire attack. Prior to the arrival for the fire department an occupant of the original fire apartment self evacuated and was transported to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse for burns. The fire was under control at 0230. |
