BAPS an organization within our district that has fundraised and donated to our department for the past 5/6 years. This year they raised over $1,900. They presented us with check at one of company meetings.

Lieutenant Ryan J. Gagliardi Memorial Scholarship

On Tuesday September 27, 2022, the Fuller Road Fire Department community suffered a tremendous loss with the untimely death of Lieutenant Ryan J. Gagliardi.

Lieutenant Gagliardi was a 7-year veteran of the Department. Ryan had served first in the Department’s Explorer Post from the age of 15, then served as a probationary firefighter, active firefighter and finally a company officer as 1st Lieutenant.

Ryan was a tremendous asset to the fire department. His personality as a natural leader and motivator caused the younger members of the Department to be drawn to him. Ryan was the leader of the “Squad” that trained together, served on duty crew together and socialized together. Ryan was a special person who undoubtedly was going to rise through the ranks of the Department to serve as a leader of the future.

The Fuller Road Fire Department is initiating the Lieutenant Ryan J. Gagliardi Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship will be offered to Town of Colonie high school seniors who are currently involved in Emergency Services and intend to continue their education in the public safety field.

The current application period will run until April 1, 2025.

Scholarship recipients will be notified by April 15, 2025.
