Serving The Town of Colonie, N.Y. since 1926
We are 100% volunteerLieutenant Ryan J. Gagliardi Memorial Scholarship
On Tuesday September 27, 2022 the Fuller Road Fire Department community suffered a tremendous loss with the untimely death of Lieutentant Ryan J. Gagliardi.
Lieutenant Gagliardi was a 7-year veteran of the Department. Ryan had served first in the Department’s Explorer Post from the age of 15, then served as a probationary firefighter, active firefighter and finally a company officer as 1st Lieutenant.
Ryan was a tremendous asset to the fire department. His personality as a natural leader and motivator caused the younger members of the Department to be drawn to him. Ryan was the leader of the “Squad” that trained together, served on duty crew together and socialized together. Ryan was a special person who undoubtedly was going to rise through the ranks of the Department to serve as a leader of the future.
The Fuller Road Fire Department is initiating the Lieutenant Ryan J. Gagliardi Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship will be offered to Town of Colonie high school seniors who are currently involved in Emergency Services and intend to continue their education in the public safety field.
The current application period will run until March 22, 2023.
Scholarship recipients will be notified by April 15, 2023.
The Fuller Road Fire Department invited Ryan Gagliardi's parents to the first company meeting in February to accept the Firefighter of the Year award. Chief Mike Romano presented Ryan's parents with the plaque the award recipient receives every year.

The members of the Fuller Road Fire Department and the Ladies Auxiliary to the Fuller Road Fire Department mourn the loss of social member Andy Cohen. Andy was a huge part of emergency services in Colonie over the last 30+ years and always someone you could count on to be there with a smile! More importantly he was a devoted family man to his wife and two daughters! Our hearts go out the Cohen family as well as all of his relatives and friends during this terribly difficult time.
